Washed hands, tied hair

RK Tiffin Center belongs to Mrs. Vaishnavi. She owns it, she is the head cook, and the kitchen is on the second floor of House No. T3 at Gitanjali Chauraha in Ambedkar Nagar. There is no restaurant downstairs and no team of rotating cooks. What you eat is what she decided to make that day.
Plenty of tiffin businesses in Bhopal are run by someone who never enters the kitchen. RK Tiffin Center works the other way round. Mrs. Vaishnavi is a home chef in Bhopal who decided to cook for more people than just her family, and she still does the cooking that matters most herself: the dal, the masala for the sabzi and the final taste check before anything is packed.
She plans the menu a week at a time. The rule is simple. Every lunch and every dinner in the week should be different, and nothing should be so rich that you feel heavy after eating it daily. That is how people eat at home, and it is what a tiffin should be.
Running a woman-owned home kitchen in Ambedkar Nagar also means she knows her customers. The MANIT student who wants six rotis, the retired couple in South TT Nagar who asked for less salt, the shopkeeper in New Market who eats late. She remembers these things, and the tiffin changes to match.
Walk from Gitanjali Chauraha to Mata Mandir at lunchtime and you pass dozens of places selling food. Samosa, poha, chowmein, thalis at the corner. What you don't find easily is a plain meal of dal, roti and sabzi, cooked with a light hand, that you could eat on day one and still want on day thirty.
The people who needed it were right there: students in rented rooms near MANIT and Kotra, girls in hostels around Shivaji Nagar and Gitanjali College, office staff in TT Nagar and older couples who had stopped cooking every meal. RK Tiffin Center began as a local food business in Bhopal for exactly these people, with delivery kept to nearby colonies so the food arrives the way it left the stove.
If you are expecting dhaba-style food with a layer of oil on top, this is not that. RK Tiffin Center is a homemade meal kitchen, and the food tastes like it was cooked for people who will eat it again tomorrow.
Cooking for other people's children and parents is a responsibility. These are the habits followed every single day, not only when someone is watching.

They are sorted, washed and cut. Anything that doesn't look fresh goes back.

A new dal and sabzi. Nothing from lunch is reused.
Then the kitchen is cleaned and set up for the next morning.
Most people who eat with us live or work within a short ride of the kitchen. These are the three groups we cook for most.

Yes, and please do. Messages on +91 95841 14377 reach Mrs. Vaishnavi. If the sabzi was too spicy or the rotis were hard, she wants to hear it the same day.
If you would like to see where your food is cooked, call first and ask for a time outside the lunch and dinner rush, usually mid-afternoon.
Tiffins leave the kitchen on fixed routes, one for each side of the area, so your delivery comes at roughly the same time every day. Share a landmark and a floor number when you join so the first delivery goes smoothly.
