Why people call us

Eating Well Between Mata Mandir and New Market Is Harder Than It Looks

This part of Bhopal has plenty of food, but very little of it is the kind you can eat twice a day, every day. Around Mata Mandir and Kotra you get students from MANIT and coaching batches living four to a flat. Jawahar Chowk, TT Nagar and New Market are full of people who work in government offices, banks and shops and eat wherever they are at 1:30 PM. South TT Nagar and the older quarters have parents whose children now live in Pune or Bengaluru.

Each of them ends up with the same few choices. The hostel mess serves the same watery dal three nights a week. Street thalis are cheap but heavy on oil. Delivery apps cost a lot by the end of the month and still don't taste like home. Hiring a cook means planning the groceries yourself.

A home cooked tiffin service in Bhopal solves this in a simple way. Someone who cooks for a family every day also cooks for you, packs it properly and sends it at the same time daily. That is all we do.

What You Get in Every Lunch and Dinner Dabba

The idea is a full meal that keeps you going until the next one, not a snack in a steel box. Here is what goes in each lunch and dinner dabba we send out.

Open RK Tiffin Center lunch box with four rotis, arhar dal, aloo gobhi, rice and cut salad
  • 4

    Rotis from fresh dough

The atta is kneaded before each meal, not the night before. More rotis are available if four aren't enough.

  • 1

    A dal that changes

Arhar, moong, masoor, chana, rajma or kadhi, cooked thick enough to eat with a spoon.

  • 1

    A dry or gravy sabzi

Based on what looked good at the market that morning. Paneer comes on Friday and Sunday dinner.

  • +

    Rice and salad

Steamed or jeera rice, with sliced onion, cucumber and a lemon wedge on the side.

The person behind the food

Mrs. Vaishnavi Runs the Kitchen Herself

RK Tiffin Center is not a franchise or a cloud kitchen with a rotating staff. Mrs. Vaishnavi owns it and is the head cook. She decides what goes on the weekly menu, buys most of the vegetables herself and tastes the dal before it is packed. When a customer says the food was too salty yesterday, that message reaches her, not a call centre.

These are the kitchen rules she set on day one:

  • Cooked for that meal. Lunch is cooked in the morning and dinner in the evening. Leftovers are not reheated and sent again.
  • Light on oil and masala. Everyday food should not upset your stomach, so the tadka stays simple.
  • Filtered water throughout. For drinking, washing rice and cooking dal.
  • Separate boxes. Dal never soaks into the rotis.
  • Same slot every day. You should know when your food is arriving without having to call.

Who eats with us

Students, Office Staff and Parents Living on Their Own

Most of our customers fall into one of three groups. Each needs something slightly different from a tiffin, and we try to get that right.

Students near MANIT and colleges

If you are looking for a tiffin service near MANIT, you are probably tired of the mess. Students in Mata Mandir, Kotra and Nehru Nagar, and girls in hostels near Gitanjali College and Shivaji Nagar, get food at the gate on time, at a price that fits a monthly allowance.

People working around TT Nagar

Shops in New Market, offices at Jawahar Chowk and the government buildings near Tulsi Nagar all break for lunch at roughly the same time. A tiffin wala near Jawahar Chowk who shows up at a fixed hour saves you the daily search for something decent.

Parents who live alone

Many older couples in South TT Nagar, 1100 Quarters and Aradhana Nagar no longer want to cook twice a day. Their children often book the plan for them from another city. Tell us about less salt or softer rotis and we'll remember.

Delivery areas

Tiffin Center Near Mata Mandir, Delivering to 20 Areas Around It

Gitanjali Chauraha sits in the middle of this part of the city, so our routes run outward in every direction: north to Tulsi Nagar and New Market, west to Mata Mandir and Kotra, south to Nehru Nagar and PNT Chauraha. Short routes mean the food is still warm when it reaches you, which is why we don't try to cover all of Bhopal.

Before you pay anyone

Six Questions to Ask Any Tiffin Service Before You Pay

We would rather you pick well than pick in a hurry. Ask these questions of us or of anyone else before you pay for a month.

01

Who is actually cooking?

A named cook who takes feedback is different from a kitchen where nobody is responsible for the taste.

02

Can I see the week's menu?

If they can't show a written weekly menu, expect aloo in most meals.

03

Is lunch cooked for lunch?

Some services cook once at night and send it twice. Ask directly when each meal is made.

04

How many rotis, really?

"Full meal" can mean three thin rotis. Get the count and the dal portion in writing on WhatsApp.

05

What happens when I travel?

Students leave for exams and festivals. Know the pause rule before you pay for a month.

06

How far is the kitchen?

A kitchen twenty minutes away across the city will send cold food, however good the cook is.

Questions

What People Ask Before Starting With RK Tiffin Center

Don't see your question? Call us. You will usually speak to the kitchen directly.

Where exactly is RK Tiffin Center?

Our kitchen is at House No. T3, 2nd Floor, Gitanjali Chauraha, Ambedkar Nagar, Bhopal 462003. That puts us a few minutes from Mata Mandir, TT Nagar, Nehru Nagar and PNT Chauraha, which is why most of our deliveries reach within minutes of leaving the kitchen.

How much does the monthly tiffin cost?

The monthly plan is ₹3,000. It covers lunch and dinner every day, which works out to roughly ₹50 a meal. Delivery inside our areas is part of that price.

Is there a tiffin service near MANIT for students?

Yes. MANIT sits on Link Road 3 near Mata Mandir, only a short ride from our kitchen. Many of our monthly customers are students living in rooms and hostels in Mata Mandir, Kotra Sultanabad and Nehru Nagar. We deliver to the hostel gate or your building entrance.

Who cooks the food?

Mrs. Vaishnavi, who owns RK Tiffin Center, is also the head cook. She plans the weekly menu, handles the masalas and tastes every dal before it is packed.

What are the delivery timings?

Lunch goes out between 12:00 – 2:00 PM and dinner between 7:00 – 9:00 PM. Once you join, you get a fixed slot inside this window so the tiffin reaches you at about the same time each day.

Do you deliver to Kotra Sultanabad, Tulsi Nagar and Shivaji Nagar?

Yes, all three are on our daily route. So are TT Nagar, South TT Nagar, Jawahar Chowk, PNT Chauraha, Aradhana Nagar, Gomti Colony, 1100 Quarters, New Market, Roshanpura, Kamla Nagar and Panchsheel Nagar. If you are just outside this list, send your location on WhatsApp and we will tell you honestly whether we can reach you.

Does the menu repeat every day?

No. There is a fixed weekly rotation with a different dal and sabzi for every lunch and dinner, so the same dish does not come back until the following week. You can see the full week on our menu page.

Is the tiffin delivered on Sunday too?

Yes. Sunday is on the menu like every other day. Lunch is usually chhole puri and dinner has paneer with pulao, which most customers look forward to.

Can I pause the tiffin when I go home?

Yes. Message us a day before you leave and tell us when you will be back. Students going home for exams or festivals do this all the time, and we sort out the missed days with you before the next month starts.

Can I get extra roti?

Yes. The regular tiffin has four rotis. If you eat more, tell us when you join and we will pack more every day.

How is the food packed?

Dal and sabzi go into separate sealed containers, and rotis are wrapped so they stay soft. Nothing leaks into anything else, even when the delivery bag gets tilted on the way.

How do I start?

Call or WhatsApp +91 95841 14377 with your name, full address and the day you want to begin. We confirm the delivery slot, share payment details, and the first tiffin can come from the next meal.
